There are also other products you must have to get things done.
You must have a good word processor or special creative writing software designed to help you write a novel or ebook. There are 2 good programs on the Mac. One is Copywrite. The other that has a five star rating, is Jer's Novel writer. You can download both at versiontracker.com in the word processing section. I will give you the links here to make it easier.

You will find copywrite and Jer's Novel writer both there. Click on the links and download the files and install them into your applications directory. I move the program icon to the dock so that I can access it easily.
You need good article submission software and there is none on the mac, so I am writing article submitter gold. It will be ready by Feb. 1st for testing.
Also, you need good web ranking software. Just click on Advanced web ranking and click on it and download it and intall it in applications. Then drag the program icon to the dock so you can access it easily.
You need good security software. I recommend Firewall builder on the Mac. Download and install into your applications directory. Move your program icon to the dock and click to start it running. It might install itself to run on start up. This is the best way as if you have a hight speed always on connection to the internet then you need a firewall's protection always on.
The next program is a virus checker. Although the mac doesn't get many viruses it still can happen. Use virus barrier. Use Net Update to download the latest virus definitions. You must do this regularly to make sure you are protected against all the latest viruses.
Intall as above in applications and drag the icon to the dock. It should be installed to run on start up.

It is rated 4 stars and I did entire websites and web graphics with it. However, some of the web pages got messed up. That is why I recommend most highly getting the following packages. For graphics get fireworks for editing photoshop templates and files. You can get a demo version at . For drawing graphics on the mac get Eazydraw. You can download this excellent drawing and photoediting program at http://www.eazydraw.net/EazyDraw2_4_1.dmg. I found it to be the best low cost alternative to photoshop and even offers more tools than create. You can get a full version for 9 months for only 20.00. The full version works for mac os x through Leopard version. The full unlimited license sells for 95.00. Go to Adobe.com for photoshop and fireworks.
For a combination program nothing compares to Create by Stone Software. It does both graphics creation and editing and website creation. You can try it and then get the full version for only 29.95 including 1 year of personal web hosting. Neo Office is the mac version of Openoffice. It is excellent but large and slow. I had trouble running it along side any other programs with even 1 gb of ram.

You are better off with Appleworks, Microsoft Office, or Papyrus Office which has all the bells and whistles of Microsoft Office in a very small package. Microsoft Office must be purchased.
